A Message to Consumers
I don't particularly like canned food. Most canned food producers miss the boat when it comes to how the food should taste. Then they over compensate with sugar, carbohydrates, salt and fat. Most can food is cheap, sweet food, that makes you feel not so good when you are done eating it. Fast food has the same result. You are starving and you quickly shovel a handful of fat, sugar, salt and carbs down your throat. The hunger is replaced with a daze like feeling similar to being stuck in your doctor's waiting room for four hours. It leaves you not quite satisfied or conscious.
I have invested the last 20 years eating and drinking my way around the globe. Yes, I have become quite the food and wine snob according to my friends and family. But that is a good thing now because I am no longer just a food enthusiast; I am a producer of fine food. I am slowly building the brand Berto's Bistro that at first taste, tastes great. Secondly, as it is being enjoyed, you tingle with a delightful happy satisfaction. And when you are done eating, you feel good. These are the required steps for a product to carry the Berto name. It takes a lot of time testing to find a product that can stand up.
Please take a close look at our nutritional information. When my wife Kimberly became pregnant with our little girl Julia, she got gestational diabetes right from the beginning. The process that I had to go through to prepare foods for Kimberly made me aware of the level of sugar and carbohydrates in most foods. It also made me aware how many individuals battle diabetes every day. So I went back to my favorite regular dishes and redesigned them to fit a diabetic diet. Berto's Bistro foods fit into most low carb, low sugar diets.
