It all started during my years traveling as an enthusiastic gourmand. I took my favorite meals and refined them to fit into a healthy diet that is low in carbohydrates, sugar, fat, and sodium, which is altogether lower in calories. We use the high quality ingredients and do not compromises the authenticity or flavor of the dish in designing a healthy ready-to-eat satisfying meal.
America's poor diet choices and limited exercise has been the cause to an increasing number of diabetic and pre-diabetic individuals. There are approximately 75 million people in North America who are fighting diabetes. A diabetic diet is simply a healthy balanced diet. The majority of prepared and restaurant foods are loaded with sugar, carbohydrates and fat, which are not options for anyone who is conscious of their health. Berto's Bistro is just that; a healthy option for the discriminating food critic.
